A Typical Day

Early morning

Children arrive between 8:00am and 9:00am.  The children enjoy free play in the play room as they arrive until we are all together to start the day.

Mid morning at home

There are some days of the week where we choose to stay at home, often another childminder may join us with their children.

Planned creative activities take place working as a group or as individuals.

Mid morning out an about

We are often out and about.  Using the car we visit many places where activities can take place.

Please take a look at my gallery page here to see just a few of the many things we do.

Lunch time

Lunches are always a packed lunch bought in with the children at the beginning of the day.

When we are at home, I plate the lunch box contents and will all sit around the table together to eat.

When out and about, the location will determine where we eat.  As a rule though we all stop and eat together.

Afternoon nap

Quite time is important to allow those children that need a nap to do so.

Individual nap times are always discussed with parents and adjusted accordingly to suit the child (and parents) needs.

Whilst some children nap, I will sit and quietly read or engage in quite craft activity with those that need less of a nap.

Afternoon of crafts

During the afternoon we have a little more craft time before preparing for the afternoon  school run.

A gentle walk is taken to the local School where I collect some of the junior children to come home with us.

Once home craft continues whilst some of the juniors conduct school homework.
